Urban Partnership Bank Opens New Financial Center in Pullman

Pullman Grand Opening

Chicago, IL--(September 11, 2013)-- William Farrow, President and CEO of Urban Partnership Bank, announced today the grand opening of the bank’s new financial center located inside the Walmart Supercenter in Chicago’s historic Pullman neighborhood at 10900 South Doty Avenue along the Bishop Ford freeway.

“We’re excited about this opportunity to participate in the rebirth of these historic and diverse communities,” said William Farrow, President and CEO of Urban Partnership Bank. “This area has a remarkable past and a promising future, and we want to do our part to act as a catalyst for its continued success,” added Farrow.

To help celebrate the grand opening, Urban Partnership Bank is giving coupons, special gifts, and bonuses to customers who open a new Urban Partnership Bank Checking, Savings or Money Market account with a $25.00 minimum deposit, from now until September 21, 2013, and who use the bank’s debit card for purchases at the Pullman store or any other Walmart location.

The new 755 square-foot financial center will be staffed seven days a week. It features a technology bar that includes a touch-screen computer for online banking and to access upbnk.com, a coin counter, and a 24-hour envelope-free ATM. The new Urban Partnership Bank financial center also offers convenient access to a wide range of transactional and deposit services and products like checking accounts, Certificates of Deposit, free online banking and much more for individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations.

Urban Partnership Bank was specifically chosen in the spring of 2013 by Walmart to occupy their new retail space at Pullman Park. Walmart worked with Alderman Anthony Beale, 9th Ward, to find a tenant that not only served the needs of the Pullman and Roseland communities but also would help accelerate their continued revitalization.

“Walmart is pleased to partner with Urban Partnership Bank in our Pullman store," said Cedric Clark, Walmart VP and Regional General Manager. “Urban Partnership Bank’s philosophy and mission to make a difference every day by building vibrant urban neighborhoods closely aligns with Walmart's mission to help provide access to quality and affordable groceries and products,” added Clark.

The new financial center is extending its delivery of affordable, responsible services and products to customers of the broader Chicagoland region, including Northwest Indiana, the South East Side of Chicago and the South suburbs. Approximately 2 million visitors are expected annually to shop at Pullman Park.

“The new location is the latest step in Urban Partnership Bank’s mission to build stronger urban communities and more secure financial futures for the people who live there,” said Marcus Bennett, Manager of the Pullman Financial Center.
