Urban Partnership Bank began in August 2010 when a group of individuals, financial institutions and non-profits came together driven by a shared commitment to transform neighborhoods into flourishing communities by providing financial products and services that are often unavailable.
This determined group understood that in order to get there, these urban areas must have quality financial products and services. Working towards this common goal, they stepped in to fill the void.
Securing a charter shortly thereafter, the new bank became reality. The time to serve the urban community and its people the right way had arrived.
Today the focus is as clear as the commitment. Build vibrant urban neighborhoods and promote economic and environmental sustainability for future generations in Chicago, Detroit and beyond. The rest, as they say, is history.
Our goal is to provide the responsible financial products our customers and the under-banked need to create jobs, promote small businesses, support nonprofits and other opportunities that build better lives and vibrant neighborhoods.
